NITDA and Coursera Launch Cohort 3 of IT Training for Nigerians – Apply Now!

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has partnered with Coursera to launch Cohort 3 of their IT training program. The aim of this initiative is to create one million digital jobs in the Information Technology sector as part of President Buhari’s Renewed Hope Agenda. NITDA and Coursera have set a target to train 8,000 Nigerian learners annually, with a total of 24,000 learners over three years.

Through this partnership, selected learners will have access to world-class educational content from renowned universities and industry leaders such as Yale, Meta, Google, and IBM. Coursera’s 32 Professional Certificates will empower learners to acquire the necessary skills to pass industry certification exams or pursue careers in high-growth fields like data analytics, social media marketing, software development, and more. The Nigerian labor market is expected to create three million digital jobs in the next four years, and these certificates will prepare learners for the emerging opportunities.

The Cohort 3 training program is aligned with the 3 Million Tech Talent (3MTT) initiative of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy. Participants will have the opportunity to undertake courses in software development, UI/UX design, data analysis and visualization, quality assurance, product management, data science, animation, AI/machine learning, cyber security, and cloud computing.

The previous cohorts have been highly successful, with 43,745 enrollments and 16,374 completed courses.
